As I understand that financial education contains a broad set of guidelines and explanations about the appropriate attitudes and attitudes in relation to the planning and use of personal financial resources, I think that we should all focus on the topic. But beware: the ability to make sound personal finance decisions should not be confused with instructions on how to obtain and use money.

Sources of information for your financial education

After distinguishing and understanding the difference that financial education can bring to everyday life, I share some of the main indicators that I have used to learn and practice, albeit as a way of teaching myself:

1. Special Blogs

Updated daily or weekly, they can be accessed for free. I really like this blog, Dinheirama, which I’ve been following for a long time, and the blog on economics by journalist Miriam Leitão. I suggest you look at your sources, read several different blogs and try to express yourself in the line proposed by their authors. And engage in regular discussions.

2. Free online courses

Carefully developed with many didactics, it can be read at the office or at home. Sebrae’s online courses, for example, are available to all types of audiences. Still working as a psychologist and deciding to dedicate myself to what I really love, design, I enrolled in all of them and ended up creating the Book-object Atelier de Design, my current office.

My business plan had 45 pages and I realized that the journey would not be easy, after all, I realized that, during my training as a psychiatrist, I had no contact with economic issues. In addition to the SEBRAE courses, I discovered that several banks offer financial education. Of course, these courses are aimed at guiding the client to invest in the products offered by the agencies, but you should also be cautious when looking at these courses. Online courses offer interesting benefits:

The student is learning the fundamentals of his learning process, as he is able to adapt to his schedule and establish his own pace of learning;

The standard of living increases, as classes can be visited at home or in the office, and the student will not encounter other conflicts, such as traffic jams, for example;

There is a real opportunity to save as there are no fuel costs, travel expenses and parking costs;

You can access good classes at affordable prices, as some options are pre-programmed and have well-crafted and descriptive content, with many date options.

On the other hand, the benefits of a free course include providing information at low or no financial cost and respecting the student’s motivation: the student learns because he is mentally and emotionally involved in the content of the lesson and the real opportunities for change it represents. .

3. Online videos

The videos available on special websites are powerful and didactic, and they take advantage of the popularity of the audio and visual learning process. There are many exciting programs that can be downloaded at any time of the day and watched if you have the time and interest. I, for example, have already watched and recommended many videos available on the Instituto Empreender Endeavor Brasil website.
